Behringer Wing firmware 3.1.2 release notes

What’s New in Behringer Wing Firmware 3.1.2 (Release Notes Explained)

Behringer released Wing firmware 3.1.2 on July 29, 2026. It’s a small release with just three lines in the notes, but two of them are fixes that matter if they hit you: a Dante card that won’t boot, and extra latency after reordering a channel’s processing. I’m going to go through all three and explain who should care.

Get the files: firmware 3.1.2 for the full-size Wing (and Wing BK), the Wing Compact and the Wing Rack is in my Behringer Wing firmware archive, along with Behringer’s release notes as a PDF. Every console has its own file, so grab the one for yours.

Fixed: Dante cards failing to boot with BK3 modules

The release notes say: “Some Dante expansion cards failed to boot when used with BK3 modules and Dante firmware 4.3.1.8”. The Wing Dante cards come with either a Brooklyn 2 or a Brooklyn 3 chipset. BK3 is the Brooklyn 3 module. So if you’ve got a Brooklyn 3 card, you updated its Dante firmware to 4.3.1.8, and the card wouldn’t come up, this is the release you want.

This is also a good reminder that the Wing and its Dante card have separate firmware. In past updates Behringer has told us to update the card along with the console, and when I did the 3.0.6 upgrade the Dante Updater said my card was current, but Dante out didn’t work until I updated the card manually. Here’s how I update the Dante expansion card firmware, and how I fixed Dante output after the 3.0.6 update. If you’re new to Dante, start with my Dante Controller guide for the Wing.

After any update, test Dante in and out before Sunday, not just in.

Fixed: reordering processing slots could increase latency

On the Wing you can change the order the processing happens in on every channel: gate, insert effects, EQ and compressor. You hit the wrench on the channel’s home screen and drag the boxes around. I show it here:

That’s how to reorder the processing chain per channel. The fix in 3.1.2 is that reordering channel processing slots could increase latency. So if you’d moved things around on a channel, that channel could have picked up extra delay. That matters most if you’re running external processing and you’ve measured your latency carefully. I show how I measure it in measuring latency on the Wing with external processing.

Changed: a clearer pan link on send faders

3.1.1 added a PAN control on send faders. 3.1.2 improves how it shows whether a send fader’s pan control is linked to the channel pan. So when you’re building a stereo in-ear mix on send faders, you can tell at a glance whether that send is following the channel’s pan or has its own. If you’re working with sends, my pre vs post fader and sends on fader posts are good places to start.

Should you update to 3.1.2?

If you’ve got a Brooklyn 3 Dante card on Dante firmware 4.3.1.8, or you’ve reordered processing on your channels, I’d install it. Otherwise it’s a small release, and it builds on 3.1 and 3.1.1, so if you’re coming from something older, the bigger changes are in those versions. Either way, back up first. Here’s how I back up my Wing to USB.

So that’s firmware 3.1.2: the Dante boot fix for BK3 modules on Dante firmware 4.3.1.8, the processing-order latency fix, and a clearer pan link indicator on send faders.
