Blackmagic Shuttle Blinking Red Light

Recently, our Blackmagic Design Hyperdeck Shuttle, used for recording our live video to a solid state hard drive, was blinking. The red record light, normally solid red, would blink randomly. After some research, I found that it means that it is dropping frames while recording.

In the end, our solution was a firmware update on both the Blackmagic shuttle recorder, as well as our Blackmagic television studio video switcher.
