Wowza, Live Streaming and Android
I use Wowza Media Server on a weekly basis to stream our church gathering’s, along with an Amazon EC2 server to run it. I’ve written several posts on how to make that happen. I’ve been struggling getting the stream to work on Android phones. I am using JWPlayer to show the feed.
As a temporary method, you can display Android users a direct link, that will open in the Android video player, that will work. Here it is:
rtsp://ec2-99-999-999-999.compute-1.amazonaws.com:1935/live/stream_name
When I stream through the JWPlayer, I am using an RTMP link. I’m working on a better, automatic way to make this happen, but thought I would share my findings for now.
